caenorhabditis elegans

Timmons Research Laboratory

Welcome to the Timmons laboratory home page! We are in the Department of Molecular Biosciences at KU. We study conserved RNA interference and related epigenetic mechanisms. Our experiments commonly employ the Caenorhabditis elegans model genetics system due to the wealth of molecular, cellular, and biochemical tools that are available. We are particularly interested in elucidating the mechanisms that connect environmental conditions and diet to epigenetic mechanisms that affect gene expression and chromatin functions.
